The Federation Council has approved the law on federal state supervision in the field of atomic energy, initiated by the Government of the Russian Federation.
The main provisions of the law include:
Establishment of requirements for planning and organization of inspections
Definition of the types of inspections and their regulations
The introduction of a maximum inspection period of 10 working days
The possibility of establishing permanent supervision over the construction of ships with nuclear reactors
Regulation of preventive measures
A clear definition of the rights and obligations of the audited organizations and Rostechnadzor
Establishment of the procedure for appealing decisions of the supervisory authority.
The law provides for detailed registration of the results of supervisory activities and is aimed at minimizing the risks of accidents with global consequences. After being signed by the President of the Russian Federation, the document will enter into force on December 1, 2025.
