The price of Russian Urals export oil dropped below $50 per barrel for the first time since June 2023, which was the result of a general drop in prices on the global oil market and instability in stock markets. According to the Argus international pricing agency, the Urals price in the port of Primorsk was $47.54 per barrel, and in the port of Novorossiysk it was $48.39 per barrel.
The discount to the NSD reference quotation has increased significantly: in the port of Primorsk, the discount increased by 0.1 dollars to 15.1, and in the port of Novorossiysk it increased by 1.25 to 14.25. Since the beginning of April, a significant decrease in prices has been recorded: in Novorossiysk, the drop was 18%, in Primorsk - 17.5%, and in Indian ports - 13%. Experts attribute such a significant drop in prices to several key factors: the imposition of customs duties, the decision of OPEC+ countries to increase oil production and the general decline in world oil prices.
