The Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation is developing a rating of regions for the development of domestic tourism, which will be presented at the Travel Forum!"in June." This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko at a meeting of the Executive Committee on tourism development.

Within the framework of the project, it is planned to discuss the methodology of rating formation with the regions and ensure the synchronization of federal resources at the local level. Special attention is paid to the exchange of experience between the leading regions and territories in need of developing tourism infrastructure.

The aim of the initiative is to create a system for assessing the tourism potential of regions and promote its development through identifying leaders, identifying areas with growth potential and implementing successful practices. The project is being implemented with the support of the relevant commission of the State Council on Tourism.
