Due to the new customs duties imposed by the United States on goods manufactured abroad, the cost of iPhone smartphones from the American technology company Apple, most of which is produced in China, may increase by 43%. This is reported by the Reuters news agency, citing data from the Rosenblatt Securities investment bank.

For example, the cost of the cheapest version of the iPhone 16, which starts at $799, could rise to $1,142, while the iPhone 16 Pro Max could rise from $1,599 to $2,300. According to experts, such a jump in cost may occur if the manufacturer decides to shift additional support to customers.

The other day, American President Donald Trump announced the introduction of customs duties on imports from 185 countries (Russia is not on this list.). The rate for China, for example, will be 34%. The trade duties will take effect on April 9th.
