The Bank of Russia has considered proposals from a group of banks, including Sberbank, T-Bank and Alfa-Bank, to create a system that would allow the use of different QR payment codes. But, as the head of the Central Bank, Elvira Nabiullina, said at the Cybersecurity in Finance forum, the Bank of Russia prefers to keep only one common QR code. This code will be managed by the National Payment Card System (NSPK).
This means that instead of many different QR codes, one universal one will be used, which will simplify payments for users and make them more secure and convenient. A single code will help to avoid confusion and improve the operation of the payment system as a whole.
