From April 1, Gosuslugi will launch a verification service for issued SIM cards.

Starting from April 1, Russians will be able to check how many SIM cards they have issued through a new service on Public Services. The innovation was announced by the head of the Ministry of Finance Maksut Shadaev during the forum "Cybersecurity in Finance".

According to Shadaev, some Russians may not be aware of the presence of SIM cards issued on them, which can be used by fraudsters.

Starting from January 1, 2025, in Russia, as part of the fight against fraudsters and gray SIM cards, the procedure for purchasing SIM cards from Russian telecom operators by foreign citizens has been tightened. They will be able to connect a limited number of numbers (up to 10) and only face-to-face in the communication salon. For Russians, the new requirements for the purchase of SIM cards will come into force on April 1, they will be allowed to have up to 20 numbers at the same time.
