Russia will introduce mandatory labeling of calls to protect against phone fraud

The Government of the Russian Federation has prepared amendments to the legislation on the introduction of mandatory labeling of calls. This was announced by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

This measure is being introduced to protect citizens from phone scams. It is assumed that when a call is received on the phone, the subscriber will see where it comes from - they are calling from an organization or from an international virtual number.

Banks and government agencies will also be banned from using foreign messengers to communicate with people.

A unified information database of malicious voices will be created.
