The Bank of Russia has approved the basic principles of fair conduct in the financial market, aimed at building trust and protecting consumer rights. The principles are formulated in the form of a document containing rules for market participants. The basis for it was the previously developed draft Code of Good Conduct.

These principles are advisory in nature and can be incorporated either fully or partially into the standards and codes of self-regulatory organizations and professional associations. They can also be the foundation of the corporate culture of financial institutions.

"These principles contribute to the development of internal control and the prevention of unfair actions in the financial market," the Central Bank said in a statement.
