South Korea has reduced purchases of untreated wood from Russia in favor of plywood, RIA Novosti informs.
The purchase level of fuelwood decreased by 20%. At the same time, the volume of plywood imports doubled. Imports of wood and wood products from Russia amounted to a record $263.1 million. The increase for the year was 4.4%.
Of the total amount, Seoul imported plywood worth 49.3 million dollars. The spoilage of processed timber with a thickness of less than 6 millimeters increased 2.4 times and amounted to 3.3 million dollars.
