In Russia, fines have been tightened for offenses in the sale of nicotine-containing and tobacco products, devices for their use, including hookahs and vapes. The relevant law was signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin. The document is published on the legal information website.
The law, in particular, tightens the responsibility for the sale of such products to minors. Now the fine for such an offense for individuals will amount to 200-300 thousand rubles, for officials - 500-700 thousand rubles, for legal entities - 1.5-2 million rubles. So far, the amounts have been 40-60 thousand rubles, 150-300 thousand rubles and 400-600 thousand rubles, respectively.
Fines for the wholesale or retail sale of snus, nasvai and other food products containing nicotine have also increased: 150-200 thousand rubles for citizens, 300-500 thousand rubles for officials, 1-1.5 million rubles for legal entities. Previously, the amounts of these fines were 100-150 thousand rubles, 15-20 thousand rubles, 30-50 thousand rubles, respectively.
For non-compliance with restrictions and violation of prohibitions in the retail trade of tobacco products, the fine for individuals will increase to 10-20 thousand rubles, for officials - up to 30-50 thousand rubles, for legal entities - up to 90-120 thousand rubles. Initially, the fines were 2-3 thousand rubles, 5-10 thousand rubles, 30-50 thousand rubles, respectively.
The law toughens the responsibility for the repeated commission of this offense: 20-30 thousand rubles for citizens, 50-90 thousand rubles for officials, 120-150 thousand rubles for legal entities.
