Apart from locusts, Russian farmers are also threatened by other pests. The invasion of the meadow moth is expected in Voronezh, Kursk, Belgorod, Novosibirsk, Penza, Omsk, Volgograd, Kurgan, Tyumen regions, Tatarstan, Kabardino-Balkaria, as well as in Altai, Stavropol, Krasnodar, Primorsky and Krasnoyarsk territories.
The Belgorod, Voronezh, Tambov, Lipetsk, Rostov, Volgograd and Saratov regions, the DPR, Crimea, Dagestan, Ingushetia, North Ossetia, Kabardino-Balkaria, Chechnya, Adygea, Kalmykia, Stavropol and Krasnodar Territories are at risk of rodent invasion. In total, 1,182 harmful factors capable of destroying crops were counted in the country: 529 pests, 434 weeds and 219 diseases. Against the background of favorable weather, the growth of agricultural pests, plant diseases and weeds is expected to reach 30-50%. All this poses a threat to the future harvest. The Rosselkhoznadzor expects a difficult phytosanitary situation and recommends that farmers prepare for it in advance.
