The agreement signed between Russia and Iran contains a clause on strengthening cooperation in the field of security and defense.

Thus, the third article of the treaty states that if one of the parties is subjected to aggression, the other should not provide any assistance to the aggressor.

-If one of the Contracting Parties is subjected to aggression, the other Contracting Party should not provide any military or other assistance to the aggressor, contributing to the continuation of aggression, and will help to resolve the differences that have arisen on the basis of the Charter. Russia and Iran have also agreed to cooperate with intelligence agencies in order to strengthen national security and counter common threats.

The fifth article stipulates military cooperation between the two sides.
