In 2024, 17.8 thousand new electric vehicles were sold in Russia, which is an all-time record. This is reported by Avtosat.
In comparison with 2023, sales of new electric cars in the country increased by 26.4%. However, it is noted that the growth rate of the Russian electric vehicle market has decreased. For example, in 2023, the annual sales growth was 4.7 times (by 2022). In this regard, in 2024, the share of electric vehicles in the total volume of sales of new passenger cars in the Russian Federation decreased to 1.1% from 1.3% in 2023.
For the second year in a row, the Chinese Zeekr electric car (7,6 thousand units) has become the market leader (43% of the total volume), sales growth has doubled. The second and third places were taken by the domestic Moskvich (an increase of 3.1 times, up to 1.7 thousand units) and Evolve (- 39%, up to 1.2 thousand units). Their market share accounts for 10% and 7%, respectively. Volkswagen also entered the TOP (-49%, up to 1,000 units) and Avatr (an increase of 2.3 times, up to 690 units).
