Mikhail Mishustin has approved the composition of the government commission for the elimination of the consequences of the emergency related to the oil spill in the Kerch Strait.

The commission was headed by Deputy Prime Minister Vitaly Saveliev. Alexander Kurenkov, the head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, has been appointed his first deputy, and operational management of all emergency services will be in his area of responsibility. The commission also included Alexander Kozlov, the head of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, Roman Starovoit, the head of the Ministry of Transport, Anton Siluanov, the head of the Ministry of Finance, and heads of other ministries and departments.

The head of Rospotrebnadzor, Anna Popova, was tasked with monitoring continuous monitoring of air quality and water samples in the Kerch Strait and in drinking sources, as well as compliance with sanitary standards at the workplace of volunteers cleaning oil products in the affected regions.

The head of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, Alexander Kozlov, was tasked with developing proposals to eliminate the consequences of an emergency, taking into account changes in water temperature in the Black Sea with the arrival of heat.

Transport Minister Roman Starovoit has been tasked with preparing a plan for lifting tankers wrecked in the Kerch Strait.

The head of Rosprirodnadzor, Svetlana Radionova, has been charged with organizing a comprehensive assessment of environmental damage, which will be fully compensated by the guilty party.

Mikhail Mishustin, Head of the Cabinet of Ministers, stressed the importance of restoring the ecosystem of the Republic of Crimea, Krasnodar Territory and the Black Sea coast as soon as possible. He instructed to clean up the water area from pollution, as well as to do everything to prevent such leaks in the future.
