In Russia, sales of new passenger cars increased by almost 50% in 2024

By the end of 2024, 1.554 million new passenger cars were sold in Russia. The increase compared to 2023 was 47%. This is reported by the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

In total, 1.836 million new vehicles were sold in the country last year, an annual increase of 39%. Thus, sales of light commercial vehicles increased by 34%, to 140.3 thousand units, buses - by 16%, to 20.6 thousand units, truck sales fell by 13%, to 121.6 thousand units.

The market for new cars of domestic production grew by 28% over the year and almost reached 830 thousand units. Sales of new electric vehicles increased by 31%, to 19.4 thousand units. Domestic electric vehicles account for 22% of the market.
