In 2024, Russia remained the main supplier of natural gas, oil and petroleum products to Turkey, as in the previous year, the Turkish newspaper Hürriyet writes.

Thus, in October, the share of Russian gas in Turkish imports was 43.3%, an increase from September (42.83%). It is expected that the volume of oil and petroleum products supplies from Russia to Turkey by the end of the year may reach 60% or more. In September, this figure was 61.3%, and in October it was 55.1%. In 2023, Russia provided 51% of such supplies, according to the Turkish Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK).

According to the newspaper Hürriyet, Turkey has become the only route for the transit of Russian energy resources to Europe through the Black Sea gas pipelines Turkish Stream and Blue Stream, as supplies via Ukraine has been terminated.
