Sparkling wine production increased by a quarter in Russia

The production of sparkling wines and champagne in Russia in January-November reached 15.8 million decaliters, which is 25% higher than in the same period last year. This was reported by the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation.

The volume of wine production in January-November amounted to 46.7 million decaliters. Of this number, sparkling wines account for a third.In January-November, 15.8 million bottles of sparkling wines and Russian champagne were produced, which is a quarter more than in the same period last year. In total, 46.7 million decaliters of wine were produced in eleven months, of which one third are sparkling wines," the report says.

Sales of the latter increased by almost 11% compared to last year.
