In the first 10 months of 2024, the trade turnover between Russia and the CIS countries increased by 10.6% year-on-year, to $93 billion. These figures were mentioned by Russian President Vladimir Putin, speaking at an informal CIS summit.

The head of state also noted that the share of national currencies in the trading settlements of the CIS countries exceeds 85%, and the parties are actively switching to using their own payment systems and settlement instruments. In addition, import substitution is increasing, which leads to the strengthening of the technological sovereignty of the Commonwealth states.
