Representatives of the National Federation of the Music Industry (NFMI) proposed to refuse monetization to creators of content generated using artificial intelligence, as well as not to distribute copyrights or related rights to such content. This was discussed at a meeting of the Council for the Development of the Digital Economy at the Federation Council, dedicated to reviewing the draft concept of AI regulation until 2030, reports "Kommersant".

As stated by NFMI CEO Nikita Danilov, the losses of authors and artists from unauthorized use of their works and images amount to 3.5 billion rubles per year. In his opinion, copyright should apply only to works created by man.

His position did not find support among the participants of the meeting, who believe that AI is a tool that allows authors to "express their creative intent". Therefore, the AI-generated content should also have legal protection like a photo or video clip.
