Deputies of the State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs, headed by Chairman Leonid Kalashnikov, have introduced a bill according to which it is proposed to introduce the obligation to take the oath of a citizen of the Russian Federation from the age of 14. The document is posted in the database of the State Duma.

The bill is aimed at increasing the patriotic spirit and conscious observance of the Constitution and legislation of the Russian Federation. The document proposes to reduce the age of persons required to take the oath from 18 to 14 years.

The necessary changes are provided for in the Law on Citizenship of the Russian Federation.
