Russian President Vladimir Putin and newly elected US President Donald Trump did not speak on the phone and did not discuss the issues of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict. This was stated by the press secretary of the Russian president Dmitry Peskov in response to media reports.

According to him, there was no conversation between the leaders of the two countries, which the Washington Post wrote about.

"lt;p>- This is completely untrue, this is pure fiction," said the Kremlin representative, emphasizing the "quality" information published today by quite reputable publications.

Earlier, The Washington Post newspaper, citing sources, reported that Trump, in a telephone conversation with Putin, advised not to escalate the war in Ukraine, recalling the US military presence in Europe.
