Wine imports to Russia decreased by 1.5 times, exports increased by 20%

In January-October 2024, Russia reduced wine imports by 1.5 times compared to the same period last year, to 357.7 thousand tons. This is reported by TASS with reference to Maxim Chmora, a representative of the Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation.
In physical terms, the decrease in imported products amounted to 33%. Wines produced in Italy (29%), Georgia (25%), Spain (10%), Portugal and France (5%) imported the most during the reporting period.
lt;p>Chmora noted that imports sank for wines from unfriendly countries, while Georgia increased supplies. Its share in Russian imports now accounts for 25% instead of the previous 17%.As for the export of Russian wines, it has increased by 20% since the beginning of the year, to 1.68 thousand tons. The main wine supplies from Russia went to China (48%), Turkey (14%), Abkhazia (13%), Latvia (11%) and Israel (3%). At the same time, it was noted that Russian wines had never been supplied to Latvia before.
