The import of new passenger cars in Russia has reached a maximum in 12 years

In October, Russia imported 112 thousand new passenger cars, which is a record for the last 12 years. Such data are voiced by experts of the analytical agency "Autostat".
The largest number of imported new cars per month was recorded in August 2012. Then about 120 thousand pieces were imported into the Russian Federation.
It was noted that Russia began to increase automobile imports from month to month, starting in May of this year. In total, 795 thousand new passenger cars have been imported into the country since the beginning of the year. The year-on-year growth was 45.4%.Most Geely Monjaro crossovers were imported to Russia in October, and Chery Tiggo 4 Pro and Tiggo 7 Pro Max, Haval M6 and GAC GS3 were also among the most imported cars.
At the same time, imports of used cars decreased. In October, 38.6 thousand units were imported, which is 10% less year-on-year. The most common imported cars are used cars from Japan: Honda Freed, Honda Fit, Toyota Corolla, Nissan Note and Honda Stepwgn. Since the beginning of the year, 332.7 thousand used passenger cars have been imported into the Russian Federation, compared with the same period last year, this is 2.9% lower.
