The Vologda governor previously announced the introduction of restrictions on the sale of alcohol in the region on weekdays. Alcohol will be sold two hours a day at lunchtime.

At the Russian Wine Forum, winemakers were asked how they feel about such innovations.

We note that the Ministry of Health supported the idea of the Vologda authorities, noting the harmful effects of alcohol. Vologda region Governor Georgy Filimonov, explaining the initiative to limit the sale of alcohol, pointed out that 71% of deaths of our fellow countrymen of working age are related to alcohol. He assessed the measure as "balanced and absolutely necessary".
