In less than 2024, 70% more DDoS attacks were carried out on the resources of Russian organizations than in the previous year. This is reported by the RCN.
According to the department, the number of DDoS attacks on the websites of organizations in the Russian Federation began to grow rapidly in 2022. Their capacity and duration increased every year. So, in 2023, the longest attack lasted for almost a day. In 2024, the duration of the longest attack was three times higher than the previous record.
To protect against such threats, Roskomnadzor launched a National DDoS Counteraction System in 2024. More than 5,000 resources belonging to more than 650 organizations, including banks, large public and private structures, and operators of critical information infrastructure, are currently connected to it. During the operation of the system, over 10.5 thousand DDoS attacks on the resources of these organizations were repelled.
