The volume of investments in the tourism industry increased by 60% year on year

In Russia, the tourism industry shows high dynamics of development. Detailed figures were prepared by the Ministry of Economic Development in honor of World Tourism Day, celebrated on September 27.

Over 800 billion rubles were invested in the industry in 2023. In the first half of 2024, the volume of investments reached 377 billion rubles, which is 64% higher than the same period last year.

More than 200 thousand companies with a total staff of more than 1 million people are involved in the tourism sector.

In January-August 2024, about 58.5 million tourist trips were made around the country. Compared to the same period in 2023, the growth was 11.4%.

In July and August, the number of tourist trips reached 10 million monthly, which was the highest in the history of statistical observations. It is expected that by the end of the year the number of tourist trips around the country will reach a record 91 million./p>
