The central Bank has raised its forecast for consumer credit growth this year to 12-17%. This is stated in the analytical review of the regulator.

The materials of the Central Bank note that the expected increase in the portfolio of consumer loans by the end of this year will be up to 17%.

"The tightening of macroprudential regulation in the second quarter of 2024, as well as an increase in the debt burden and interest rates, should compensate for high consumer activity and rising household incomes," the Bank of Russia said.

In the review that the Central Bank made in June, the forecast for consumer credit growth was 7-12%.

The regulator left the forecast for the growth of consumer loans next year unchanged - 4-9%.

It is noted that consumer loans increased by 14% last year.

The Central Bank expects mortgage lending to increase by 7-12% this year, and by 8-13% next year.

By the end of last year, the mortgage portfolio increased by more than a third.

Corporate lending will increase by 10-15% this year, and by 7-12% next year. In 2023, this portfolio grew by 20%.
