By the beginning of July this year, the number of participants in the Financial Messaging System (SPFS) had increased to 570 organizations. At the same time, the number of messages increased by 13.2%, when compared with traffic for the same period of the year. Such an increase in interest in the domestic analogue of SWIFT is reported by TASS with reference to data from the Central Bank.

The regulator notes that there is an increase in demand for SPFS not only from organizations from the Russian Federation, but also from foreign ones.

This system has become a key tool for the exchange of financial information during domestic settlements. The central Bank called the system a reliable and secure channel for the exchange of payment information for financial institutions. Despite the inclusion of the SPFS by the European Union in the sanctions list, 14 more organizations have joined the list of users of the Russian equivalent of SWIFT in a few months.

SPFS can transmit data in SWIFT format, however, it does not depend on its channels.

Previously, the Bank of Russia banned importers still have problems with cross-border settlements.
