Since the beginning of the year, domestic films have collected 25.7 billion rubles at the Russian box office

Today, the Russian film distribution market consists of 80% of films of domestic production. Such data were announced by the head of the Ministry of Culture Olga Lyubimova at the St. Petersburg International Forum of United Cultures, TASS reports.

According to her, since the beginning of the year, more than 87.7 million people have visited Russian cinemas, and the collections of domestic films in January-August exceeded the mark of 25.7 billion rubles. At the same time, seven Russian films grossed over 1 billion rubles.

Lyubimova noted that, in general, the growth rate of Russian cinema collections is increasing. In 2023, this figure doubled to the level of 2022, tripled to the level of 2021 and almost fourfold by 2015.
