In Russia, self-sufficiency in veterinary medicines and vaccines is at the level of 50% of the need. Such figures were announced by the head of the Ministry of Agriculture Oksana Lut during the final board of the department.

She stressed that the remaining half of the market is occupied by foreign suppliers mainly from unfriendly countries.

The main goal until 2030, Lut called reaching the level of self-sufficiency in veterinary medicines - by 70% and in vaccines - by 60%. She noted the attractiveness of this area among market participants.

The state plans to support investors and manufacturers of veterinary medicines who are ready to invest in the creation and expansion of production facilities with preferential loans and subsidies. Universities and research institutes will also receive support in the form of reimbursement of part of the costs of the material and technical base.
