The SORMOVSKY 1989 cargo ship bound for Russia broke down in the middle of the Turkish Dardanelles Strait on the morning of September 9 and had to be urgently towed to the nearest coastal port. The cause was an engine failure. This is reported by the RBC website.

According to the General Directorate of the Turkish Coast Guard, the Russian cargo ship SORMOVSKIY 3063 with a length of 119 meters en route from Mersin to Russia suddenly had an engine failure and the vessel had to be towed to port. The breakdown of the bulk carrier did not paralyze movement in the strait due to the timely response. At the end of March, a similar incident with a Russian cargo ship occurred in the Bosphorus Strait.
