Upon the fact of mass poisoning of ready-made food of employees of precinct election commissions (PECS) in St. Petersburg by employees of the GSU of the IC of the Russian Federation in the city, a criminal case has been initiated and is being investigated.

A criminal case has been initiated upon the provision of services that do not meet the requirements for the safety of life or health of consumers.

Everything happened on September 7, when citizens who had lunch at polling stations in the Admiralteysky and Kirovsky districts of St. Petersburg turned to hospitals with poisoning. It is known about at least 10 members of commissions and police officers poisoned at polling stations in the Admiralteysky district. Later it became known that the members of the election commissions in Knyazhevo also felt bad. The exact number of those who became ill is several dozen, according to preliminary data there are more than 30 of them.

By all indications, the employees of the PEC were poisoned by ready-made lunches that they bought in local canteens. Currently, employees of the IC, together with Rospotrebnadzor, are conducting inspections of the accident sites, those workshops where dinners were prepared. Multiple violations of sanitary and epidemiological norms have already been identified.
