Due to such dynamics, domestic companies are losing out in the transportation of strategic goods. This was stated by the head of the Russian Maritime Board, Presidential aide Nikolai Patrushev.

He also pointed out the personnel problem in the work of shipbuilding enterprises.

"lt;p>"The pace of renewal of the Russian fleet does not meet the requirements of today. For many years, the volume of cargo transported by Russian-flagged vessels has remained unacceptably low, primarily due to a shortage of domestic vessels," TASS quoted Patrushev as saying.

The head of the Maritime Board voiced the need to bring the industry to a new technological level. In the meantime, according to him, unfriendly countries have actually ousted Russian transport companies from the transportation market. Transportation of oil, grain and other strategic cargoes suffers from this.

In August of this year, the President signed a decree on the Maritime Board of the Russian Federation. Nikolai Patrushev was appointed Chairman of the Board.
