Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed to finance territorial defense units in the Belgorod, Bryansk and Kursk regions from the budget, this became known following a meeting on the situation in three border regions of Russia. In addition, the President instructed to allocate funds from the budget to compensate for the damage caused to enterprises in the Belgorod, Bryansk and Kursk regions, as well as to assist in the employment of citizens evacuated from the territories of the regions.
Recall that the units of the defense ministry serve in three areas without receiving remuneration in the border regions have already been written more than once.
In particular, this issue was raised by the heads of the Belgorod and Bryansk regions. The governor of the Belgorod Region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, previously asked the head of state to consider the possibility of financing the defense industry from the federal budget. Two territorial defense regiments numbering more than 6 thousand people were formed in the Belgorod region. They were given weapons in August 2023. It is much worse known how things are in the Kursk region.Previously, all these activities were carried out at the expense of regional budgets, which reduced the effectiveness of the created units, since there were constantly not enough funds for these purposes.
