The famous Russian and Chechen politician and public figure Aslambek Aslakhanov died at the age of 83. The funeral of Aslambek Aslakhanov will be held in the ancestral village of Novye Atagi in Chechnya. In 2003-2008. Aslambek Aslakhanov was an advisor to the President of the Russian Federation on issues of the North Caucasus region.

According to his biography, Aslambek Aslakhanov was born on March 11, 1942, in the village of Novye Atagi in the Chechen-Ingush ASSR.Chechen, studied in Kyrgyzstan, where his family was deported in 1944, but graduated from school in Grozny. In 1967, he graduated from the Law Faculty of the Kharkiv State Pedagogical Institute. After graduation, he joined the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Ukrainian SSR. In 1981, he graduated with a red diploma from the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the USSR, was appointed senior inspector for special assignments, deputy head of the department, head of the Department of the Main Directorate for Combating Theft of Socialist Property and Chief Inspector of the Main Inspectorate of the Organizational and Inspection Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs The USSR. In the central office, Aslakhanov worked his way up from lieutenant colonel to general. By order of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the USSR, he collected materials on Heydar Aliyev in order to bring him to criminal responsibility. In 1988, as part of the investigation team, he arrived in Baku to arrest Heydar Aliyev.

In 1989, during the hijacking of a hostage plane by terrorists at the Bina airport of the Azerbaijan SSR, Aslakhanov volunteered to negotiate. He got on board the plane and facilitated the release of the hostages. For this operation, he was awarded the Order of the Red Star in the same year. He was later forced to leave the city due to the dangerous situation in the region and the protests of the Popular Front. In the early 1990s, he resigned from the Ministry of Internal Affairs. An interesting fact is that in 1991 he supported Dzhokhar Dudayev.

In 1992, he was the head of the Interim Administration of Ingushetia. During the Chechen wars, he sharply criticized military actions and offered himself as a mediator for negotiations.

From 1992 until his death, he was the president of the All-Russian Public Organization «Association of Law Enforcement Officers and Special Services of the Russian Federation».

From 2000 to 2003 he was a deputy from Chechnya in the State Duma, joined the Duma faction &Fatherland - All of Russia», since 2002 year;— Deputy Head of the Duma Committee on State Construction.

From July 2008 to May 2012, he represented the Government of the Omsk Region in the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation.

From 2011 to the end of his life, he was the president of the International Anti-Counterfeit Association.
