In the Russian Republic of Karelia, Rosneft gas stations have temporarily limited fuel sales, according to regional leader Arthur Parfenchikov.

Under the new rules, drivers can purchase no more than 30 liters of gasoline per fill-up in cities and up to 50 liters on highways. Diesel fuel is capped at 50 liters per purchase. At fast-fill pumps intended for heavy-duty vehicles, up to 200 liters can be dispensed.

Additionally, fuel sales into containers such as jerry cans have been completely suspended for the duration of the restrictions.

Parfenchikov explained that the measures were introduced to prevent panic buying and ensure equitable distribution of fuel supplies among consumers. He acknowledged that the restrictions may cause inconvenience for residents and businesses dependent on road transport.

The Karelian government is maintaining ongoing communication with Rosneft management and relevant authorities. Regional authorities are also addressing issues related to uninterrupted fuel deliveries and expect to return gas stations to normal operations soon.

Parfenchikov did not specify how long the restrictions will remain in place.
