The Russian government has raised import duties on strong alcoholic beverages coming from unfriendly countries. The new rate is set at 35% of the customs value of the products, with a minimum of five euros per liter. This decision was announced in a government decree.

The new rules apply to a wide range of alcoholic beverages, including whisky, rum, gin, vodka, liqueurs, spirit-based drinks, undenatured ethyl alcohol, and other similar products.

Previously, the import duty was 20%, with a minimum of three euros per liter. Thus, the government has increased both the percentage rate and the minimum fixed fee.

The established tariffs will remain in effect until the end of 2027.
