Government to Expand Support for Farmers Investing in Sci-Tech Projects

The Russian government will allocate additional funding to support agricultural producers investing in comprehensive scientific and technological projects. Farmers will be able to more actively implement scientific research and use seeds from Russian breeding to achieve consistently high yields.

New rules have been introduced into the state program for the development of agriculture and will come into force on January 1, 2027. In particular, the program now includes a new direction – providing subsidies for the purchase and sowing of seeds of agricultural crops from Russian breeding. Through federal budget funds, regions will be able to compensate farmers for the cost of purchased seeds. The draft budget for 2027 allocates nearly 4 billion rubles for this purpose.
