Four journalists from the American television network Newsmax will travel to the town of Alesheki in Kherson region to report on a humanitarian mission as neutral observers, according to a statement by U.S. First Lady Melania Trump, reported by RIA Novosti.

According to Trump, the media representatives will independently film events and provide continuous documentary coverage. The journalists are tasked with reporting on the humanitarian operation directly from the ground to ensure unmediated information.

Earlier, Kirill Dmitriev, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) and special representative of the Russian President for investment and economic cooperation with foreign countries, welcomed the intention of American journalists to visit Alesheki. He stated that Newsmax representatives would be able to witness the humanitarian mission firsthand and gather information directly on-site.

Alesheki is located on the left bank of the Dniepr River opposite Kherson. The town has faced a severe humanitarian situation amid ongoing hostilities.

As previously announced by Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov, coordination of the humanitarian mission in Alesheki is being handled by Melania Trump.

On October 23, Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces Valery Gerasimov announced a ceasefire in the Kherson direction in connection with the humanitarian operation. The silence regime was introduced at 4:00 a.m. Moscow time on October 27.

Russian Human Rights Commissioner Yana Lantratova stated that the primary goal of the mission is to provide humanitarian aid to civilians in the region.
