Russia insists that any proposal regarding Ukraine must take into account the realities on the ground, Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov emphasized during his speech at the Nizhny Novgorod Economic Forum.

"The imperative is a complete, one hundred percent accounting of the changed realities on the ground, our constitutional realities, and what is happening on the battlefield. We are conducting dialogue with the United States from this position," Ryabkov stressed.

He added that Moscow expects Washington to understand the logic and necessity of these decisions and to work in the same vein with its "proteges" in Ukraine and with the European group.
