Russia plans to raise its minimum wage to 28,935 rubles ($360 USD) per month by 2027, according to Labor Minister Anton Kotyakov, who made the announcement during a meeting of the State Duma Budget and Taxes Committee.
According to the minister, the increase is scheduled for next year. The specified amount will become the minimum monthly wage for employees who have fully worked the established time norm and fulfilled their job duties.
The minimum wage sets the lower limit for remuneration before income tax deductions. The actual salary may be higher depending on working conditions, employee qualifications, and other circumstances provided by law.
The minimum wage also affects the calculation of certain social benefits. Specifically, it influences the minimum amount of temporary disability benefits, as well as maternity and childbirth payments in cases where earnings during the calculation period were absent or below the legal threshold.
