### Russia Bans Direct Crypto Transactions Between Individuals Starting July 1, 2027
Starting July 1, 2027, direct transactions between individuals involving digital currencies will no longer be permitted without the involvement of authorized intermediary organizations, according to a statement from the Central Bank of Russia (CBR).
In other words, peer-to-peer (P2P) transactions between individuals will only be allowed until June 30, 2027. After that date, such transactions will be prohibited.
Since September 1, Russian individuals, small businesses, and companies have been allowed to conduct international transactions using cryptocurrencies. However, payments in digital currencies within Russia remain banned.
