Delivery couriers in Moscow will be required to pass a test demonstrating their knowledge of road traffic rules to confirm their professional qualifications, according to a press release from the Moscow Department of Transport.

From October 15, the test will become mandatory for access to work, while until October 14, it will be conducted on a voluntary basis. To confirm their qualifications, couriers must provide at least 80% correct answers.

The test will consist of two sections: road safety (speed limits, rules for cycling and personal mobility devices) and service standards (communication etiquette and appearance requirements for couriers and their vehicles). A valid result will be effective for one year from the date of passing the test.

The testing will be carried out through the existing "Taxi Work Analytics" system, which has been in operation since 2021 and is used to verify traffic rules knowledge among Moscow taxi drivers.

Currently, there are over 135,000 delivery couriers working in Moscow.
