Despite U.S. sanctions, Russia is confident it will have no trouble selling its diesel fuel due to high global demand for oil products, according to Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.

"Demand is huge. A massive amount of oil and oil products has been taken off the market. So, to put it simply, there is no problem with demand on the markets. There would be supply," Peskov was quoted as saying by RIA Novosti.

  • Earlier, the U.S. lifted a ban on Russian diesel exports to world markets. The decision will remain in effect until April 7, 2027. Following this, the Russian government also lifted the ban on diesel exports starting October 10. It is expected that Russia will initially supply 500,000 tons of diesel to global markets. The government noted that this decision will not negatively impact the domestic market, as diesel production remains stable.
