### Putin Expands Cash Export Restrictions from Russia Russian President Vladimir Putin has expanded restrictions on cash exports from Russia, according to a decree published on the legal information portal. The ban applies to individuals planning to take ruble cash out of Russia to countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU), as well as Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan, if the amount exceeds 1 million rubles. The decree provides several exceptions. Cash can be exported through certain airports (to be specified by the government) if accompanied by a bank statement confirming that the cash was withdrawn from the account of the individual exporting it. The restrictions will not affect cash transit by legal entities or the export of funds necessary for the operation of Russian diplomatic missions and other Russian institutions abroad. Violators of the ban face cash seizure: for individual entrepreneurs and legal entities, the entire amount will be confiscated; for individuals, only the amount exceeding 1 million rubles will be seized.
