Despite ongoing dialogue between Russia and the U.S., no tangible changes in relations between the two countries are expected in the near future, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated during the Congress of the International Movement of Russophiles.

He noted, however, that relations between Russia and the U.S. differ significantly from those with European countries, as the U.S. is willing to engage in dialogue with Russia.

"There is, of course, an important distinction between the United States and European elites — they are willing to talk. This is always important, even when positions are diametrically opposed. The U.S. conducts its affairs with us in this manner, even though no tangible progress has been made or is expected in terms of restoring our relations," Lavrov emphasized.
