Russians Refunded 1.5 Billion Rubles for Cancelled Crimea Travel Bookings in June

In June, Russian tour operators processed refunds for 30,000 canceled trips to Crimea, totaling 1.5 billion rubles. This represents only 15% of the total number of travelers who opted out of visiting the peninsula, according to the Association of Russian Tour Operators (ATOR).

Logistical challenges were cited as the main reasons for cancellations: the closure of Simferopol airport, reduced train services, and issues with fuel and electricity supply. Additionally, some Russians chose to postpone their vacations altogether, preferring to keep their money in bank deposits with high interest rates, ATOR told Interfax.
