Russian Tourism Sector Expects 35% Increase in Chinese Tourist Arrivals Following Visa Waiver Extension

Chinese visits to Russia could increase by 27-35% in 2026, according to preliminary estimates by the Russian Association of Tour Operators (ATOR), following the extension of visa-free entry for Chinese citizens until December 31, 2027.

Industry experts, however, stress the need for support of inbound tourism. They suggest more active promotion of Russian tourism products in China and organizing regular information tours for representatives of the Chinese tourism industry to Russian regions.
