### Russian Central Bank Surveys Non-Financial Sector on Generative AI Adoption
The Bank of Russia has conducted its first large-scale assessment of generative artificial intelligence (AI) adoption in the non-financial sector, surveying 14,700 companies.
According to the survey, one in seven companies (14.3%) is already using AI, while one in five plans to implement it. Small businesses and service companies are the most active adopters, seeking to enhance their competitiveness.
Challenges in AI integration include a shortage of skilled personnel, high implementation costs, data leakage risks, and the need to restructure business processes.
Two-thirds of companies reported positive outcomes from AI implementation. The technology has not affected employment levels, but productivity has increased among employees actively using neural networks.
The main areas of AI application are marketing (half of surveyed companies) and big data processing. Only one in ten companies reported increased profitability due to AI, but investment activity among "digital" leaders was significantly higher than among other firms.
The Bank of Russia notes that most companies are still in the testing phase of AI adoption, and deep transformation of business processes lies ahead.
