Russian President Vladimir Putin has denied that Moscow has supplied arms to Iran amid the escalation of tensions in the Middle East. The statement was made during the plenary session of the St. Pyotrsburg International Economic Forum.

Responding to questions about possible military support for Tehran, the Russian leader stressed that the Iranian side had not approached Russia with such requests. According to him, this meant that no arms deliveries to Iran had taken place.

Putin pointed out that the topic is often the subject of speculation, but in fact, Russia did not participate in sending weapons to Iran during the Middle East conflict.
